Eat Drink Halifax is the creation of local food and drink writer, critic, and sommelier Mark DeWolf. Mark, formerly the national president and sommelier instructor for the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers, has been writing about food and drink for more than twenty years. He has served as an editor of Occasions Magazine, produced for the NSLC, Director of Food & Drink for Saltwire.com, and editor of an international wine publication, ASI Magazine, produced for the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale.
Eat Drink Halifax is your resource for food and drink events both large and small. Eat Drink Halifax hosts both the Halifax International Wine Festival and Halifax International Spirit Festivals, along with smaller bi-monthly elevated food and drink events via Mark’s DeWolf Experiences business, a local event and international travel company.

We have interviews with chefs, sommeliers, and mixologists from near and far, along with our tips for finding the Halifax Regional Municipality’s (HRM) best spots to dine and some of Mark’s favourite recipes. Eat Drink Halifax operates small and large events alike. At the core of the business are its premium events, including the Halifax International Wine Festival and the Halifax International Spirit Festivals. It also manages small events via our partner business, DeWolf Experiences, which conducts intimate dining events at a private speakeasy in Halifax’s North End and international travel experiences to wine regions across the globe. Mark’s experience as editor of the prestigious Association de la Sommellerie’s magazine gives him direct access to the best chefs, winemakers, and sommeliers on the planet. Tours are both scheduled and custom for smaller groups.
