Madeira is lush and mountainous, offering dramatic vistas at every turn, not to mention incredible local cuisine and an amazing history of winemaking. The Azores are likewise mountainous, albeit these mountains are predominantly dormant volcanos. The food of the Azores is known for fresh seafood, but also rich stews.
